The Job
You will lead and motivate a team of professionals to deliver timely, accurate and effective accounting support to operating departments. You will oversee Accounts Payable and intercompany-related matters, strengthen accounting processes and controls, safeguard the hospital's interests and assets, and support statutory and management reporting requirements. You will also partner the Director / Deputy Director, Finance on short- and long-term financial strategies, while developing staff capability and service delivery standards.
Your job roles will include but not be limited to the followings:
- Lead, motivate and develop the Accounts Payable and Intercompanies team to deliver effective accounting support across operating departments.
- Serve as key contributor and focal point for accounts payable and intercompany system implementation, ensuring successful deployment, user adoption and process alignment.
- Oversee end-to-end accounts payable functions to ensure accurate and timely payment processing in accordance with established policies, and resolve finance matters with hospital departments.
- Direct monthly closing activities including billings, accruals, journal entries, reconciliations and reports, and ensure timely submissions to Management and SingHealth.
- Oversee intercompany reporting, forecasts, budgeting and timely completion of sales and purchase agreements with related companies.
- Develop and monitor department work plans to ensure Finance activities are aligned with hospital priorities and delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Guide the preparation and maintenance of Finance policies and procedures to ensure practices are properly documented and kept current.
- Support Finance as a business partner by providing analysis, recommendations and practical solutions to clinical and operational stakeholders.
- Assist in other projects or tasks assigned by supervisors in support of SGH's priorities.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration (major in Accountancy or Finance) or equivalent.
- Membership to a professional body such as ISCA or ACCA will be an advantage.
- At least 10 to 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate, guide and develop staff.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with Management, departments and related companies.
- Analytical, meticulous and independent, with initiative to complete assigned tasks and projects under tight timelines.
- Able to contribute as a Finance business partner through sound judgement, practical recommendations and continuous improvement mindset.
