Job summary

MINDEF Singapore is seeking a Human Factor Engineering expert to ensure soldier systems are ergonomically designed and well integrated, enhancing performance and experience.

You will review designs, conduct tests and evaluations, and analyse results to optimise human-system integration. Collaboration with defence technologists and academia will be key to advancing human performance studies.

Qualifications

• Education in Human Factor Engineering or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience applying HFE knowledge in product design and test/evaluations.
• Good network amongst HFE practitioners.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to attend overseas seminars and conferences.
• Ability to conduct test and evaluations in both laboratory and field settings.

Responsibilities

• Review the design of various soldier systems and provide input for improvements.
• Design Test and Evaluations to identify human factor issues across soldier systems.
• Analyse Test and Evaluation results to optimise human-system integration.
• Develop and conduct periodic reviews of HFE matrices for soldier systems.
• Collaborate with Defence Technology Community and tertiary institutions on research and trials.
• Apply HFE knowledge in a military/Army context with diverse stakeholders.
