Job summary

Petalo Cakery is hiring an Assistant Baker to support daily cake production in a small creative studio in Singapore. You will focus on baking and production while occasionally assisting with simple order administration and events.

The role offers hands-on experience in wedding and celebration cakes, with opportunities to grow in cake decorating and event support within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on baking experience in a small kitchen.
• Experience in crafting wedding cakes or celebration cakes is a plus.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen and maintain cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Baker with daily cake and pastry production.
• Prepare components like curds, pralines, macarons, cookies and tarts.
• Bake, assemble and frost cakes with consistency and care.
• Assist with basic cake decorating and finishing.
• Pack and fulfil customer orders accurately.
• Support production for seasonal launches and special projects.
• Assist with order administration and studio tasks.

Assistant Baker

Join our growing team at Petalo Cakery.

We’re looking for an Assistant Baker to join our studio and support the daily production of our wedding cakes, celebration cakes and other sweet treats.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on baking experience who enjoys working in a small, creative team and takes pride in producing consistently good work.

While your primary role will be in baking and cake production, you’ll also assist with simple order administration and have opportunities to support Petalo’s wedding showcases, pop-ups and events from time to time.

You Should

• Have hands-on experience in baking and frosting cakes

• Hold a valid WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certificate, or be willing to obtain one

Job Scope

Baking & Production

• Assist the Head Baker with daily cake and pastry production

• Prepare cake and pastry components such as curds, pralines, macarons, cookies and tarts

• Bake, assemble and frost cakes with consistency and care

• Assist with basic cake decorating and finishing

• Pack and fulfil customer orders accurately

• Assist with production for seasonal launches and special projects

Orders & Studio Support

• Schedule confirmed customer orders accurately into the team calendar

• Ensure order details and production schedules are organised and kept up to date

• Flag any missing order information or potential scheduling conflicts to the team

• Assist with simple order-related administrative tasks when required

• Maintain the general cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and studio

Pop-Ups & Events

• Assist with Petalo pop-ups, wedding showcases and events when required

• Help with preparation, packing, set-up and other event-related tasks as needed

Working Hours

• 5.5-day work week

• Must be able to work on weekends and Public Holidays when required

• Some flexibility may be required for occasional pop-ups, wedding showcases and events
