Job summary

KWAN YONG CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Architect to lead the architectural team and ensure smooth execution of works in line with project specifications and timelines.

You will coordinate construction drawings and technical submissions, liaise with clients and consultants, and manage interfaces with structural, M&E and interior design trades, ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture (BOA-recognised preferred).
• 8–10 years of relevant experience, including managerial experience in main contractor environments.
• Proven experience managing large-scale building/high-rise architectural works.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore local authority submission processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the architectural team, including Design Coordinators, to ensure alignment with project specs, timelines and quality.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise construction drawings, shop drawings and submissions with timely approvals.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure correct interpretation and implementation of designs.
• Coordinate architectural works with structural, M&E and interior design trades to resolve interfaces.
• Monitor site progress and inspect compliance with drawings and standards.
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies and site challenges during construction.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations (BCA, URA) and company standards.
• Support project management with reporting and documentation.
• Drive timely submission of materials, samples and method statements per schedule.
• Promote workplace safety, quality and environmental compliance.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Architecture (preferably recognised by BOA or relevant professional body).
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience, with at least several years in a managerial role within a main contractor environment.
• Proven experience in managing architectural works for large-scale building or high-rise projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local authority submission processes and construction practices in Singapore.
• Good understanding of architectural detailing, materials, and coordination with structural and M&E systems.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Meticulous, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
