We are seeking a highly experienced Application Engineer to support customers across the rapidly evolving AI infrastructure, high-speed digital, optical communications and advanced memory ecosystem. This is a customer-facing technical role combining engineering expertise, solution development and consultative engagement. You will work with technology companie and engineering teams to develop measurement, validation and characterizatio solutions for next-generation digital and optical technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert across high-speed digital, optical communications, photonics and AI infrastructure technologies.
- Engage with customers throughout the solution lifecycle, from technical evaluation and planning through deployment and production.
- Understand customer engineering challenges and recommend appropriate testing and measurement approaches.
- Develop and deploy validation and characterization solutions covering:
- High-speed SerDes and interconnects
- Optical transceivers and optical networking
- Silicon photonics
- PCIe, Ethernet and InfiniBand
- DDR, HBM and CXL memory technologies
- Develop measurement methodologies for signal integrity, power integrity, jitter, eye diagrams, BER and compliance testing.
- Integrate instrumentation, automation and data analysis into practical engineering workflows.
- Support technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept projects, competitive evaluations and customer engagements.
- Work closely with commercial teams to identify opportunities and support technical sales and design wins.
- Gather customer feedback and industry insights to influence future solutions and product development.
- Represent the organisation at customer events, technical forums and industry conferences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in applications engineering, design validation, product engineering, manufacturing test or technical solution development.
- Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, channel characterization and compliance testing.
- Solid understanding of PAM4, NRZ, equalisation, jitter, BER and channel modelling.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed digital and/or optical communication technologies.
- Experience with optical transceivers, silicon photonics or high-speed interconnect technologies.
- Practical experience using test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNAs, optical analysers, protocol analysers or related instrumentation.
- Strong customer-facing, communication and technical consulting skills.
- Experience with industry standards such as IEEE, OIF, PCI-SIG, JEDEC, Ethernet or CXL is advantageous.
