Job summary

Silith is seeking a Photonics Test Engineer to validate PIC performance and bridge design with mass production. You will develop test strategies enabling AI, LiDAR, and high-speed communication chips to move from simulation to silicon reality.

You will define verification plans, characterize on chip and wafer levels, and build automation for large datasets, contributing to next-generation products and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in EE, Optical Engineering, or Semiconductor Physics.
• Hands-on characterization of active/passive integrated photonic devices (DC/AC, OO/EO/OE measurements).
• Optical alignment and electrical probing procedures.
• Test-setup development, maintenance, and equipment sourcing.
• Programming for instrument control, test automation, and large dataset post-processing.
• Understanding of guided-wave optical device working principles.

Responsibilities

As a Photonics Test Engineer in our fabless silicon photonics design house, you will be the key validator of our PIC performance. You will bridge design and mass production by developing test strategies that ensure our chips meet the rigorous demands of AI, LiDAR, and high-speed communication. Your work turns simulation into silicon reality.

Responsibilities:

• Define design verification test plans, analyze device performance, and provide feedback for design improvement
• Perform detailed characterization of active and passive integrated photonic devices on chip-level and wafer-level
• Develop programs for test automation and data post-processing
• Design and implement die sorting tests, interpret data, and conduct yield analysis
• Interface with packaging and reliability teams to support high-volume production
• Participate in R&D projects for next-generation products
• Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum Master's Degree in EE, Optical Engineering, or Semiconductor Physics
• Hands-on experience in characterization of active/passive integrated photonic devices (DC/AC, OO/EO/OE measurements)
• Hands-on experience in optical alignment and electrical probing procedures
• Experience in test setup development, maintenance, and equipment sourcing
• Proficiency in programming for instrument control, test automation, and large dataset post-processing
• Good understanding of guided-wave optical device working principles
• Background in 3D sensing, LiDAR, or autonomous navigation is a plus
• Experience in active organic materials, compound materials, or hybrid integration is a plus
• Familiarity with semiconductor foundry and subassembly processes is a plus
• Strong self-motivation, excellent communication, and cross-functional teamwork
