You will work with customers, sales, and internal teams to develop advanced test and measurement solutions, support product validation, and accelerate the adoption of next-generation technologies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in applications engineering or related field.
• Strong signal integrity and BER testing knowledge.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Applications Engineer to support strategic customers across high-speed digital, optical communications, silicon photonics, advanced memory, and AI data center technologies.

This role combines deep technical expertise, customer engagement, solution development, and business development. You will work closely with customers, sales teams, and internal engineering teams to develop advanced test and measurement solutions, support product validation, and accelerate the adoption of next-generation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership

  Act as a trusted technical advisor to strategic customers throughout the product development lifecycle, from architecture planning and technology evaluation to validation, deployment, and production ramp-up.

  Engage with customer executives, architects, R&D teams, validation engineers, and manufacturing teams to understand technical challenges and recommend effective solutions.

  Provide technical consulting to improve productivity, reduce development risks, and accelerate time-to-market.

• 2. Application Engineering & Solution Development
  1. Develop and deploy advanced validation and characterization solutions for:
     • Optical transceivers: 400G, 800G, 1.6T and beyond
     • Silicon photonics and co-packaged optics (CPO)
     • High-speed SerDes and AI accelerator interconnects PCIe Gen5, Gen6, Gen7 and emerging interfaces Ethernet and InfiniBand
     • DDR5, DDR6, HBM and CXL memory interfaces
  2. Develop measurement methodologies for signal integrity, power integrity, jitter, eye diagrams, bit error rate (BER), and compliance testing.
  3. Integrate test instrumentation, automation software, and data analytics into efficient validation workflows.
  4. Create reusable application methodologies, technical demonstrations, solution guides, and customer training materials.
• 3. Business Development & Customer Solutions
  • Partner with sales teams to identify and develop strategic business opportunities.
  • Support technical presentations, proof-of-concept evaluations, competitive benchmarking, and customer demonstrations.
  • Help drive design wins, strengthen customer relationships, and expand business opportunities within key accounts.
  • Provide market intelligence on emerging technologies, competitive solutions, and customer requirements.
• 4. Product Development & Market Insights
  • Gather customer feedback and translate technical requirements into actionable input for product management and R&D teams.
  • Contribute to product roadmap planning and feature prioritization.
  • Participate in beta testing and validation of next-generation test and measurement solutions.
  • Provide feedback on product performance, usability, and application requirements.
• 5. Industry Engagement & Technical Thought Leadership
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry standards, and developments in AI infrastructure and high-speed data communications.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, technical forums, customer events, and consortium meetings.
  • Develop technical articles, application notes, webinars, and conference presentations.
  • Build relationships across the optical communications, semiconductor, and high-speed digital ecosystem.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or PhD, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in applications engineering, design validation, product engineering, manufacturing test, or solution development involving high-speed digital and/or optical technologies.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, channel characterization, and compliance testing methodologies.
• In-depth understanding of PAM4, NRZ, equalization techniques, jitter analysis, BER measurements, and channel modelling.
• Hands-on experience with optical communication systems and transceiver form factors, including QSFP-DD, OSFP, OSFP-XD, or emerging pluggable architectures.
• Experience with high-performance test and measurement equipment, including: Real-time and sampling oscilloscopes Digital communication analyzers (DCA)Bit error rate testers (BERT)Vector network analyzers (VNA)Optical spectrum analyzers Lightwave component analyzers Protocol and logic analyzers Optical sources and power meters
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and specifications, including IEEE, OIF, PCI-SIG, JEDEC, Ethernet, and CXL.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally across South Asia Pacific.
