Job summary

Carl Zeiss is seeking an experienced Application Engineer for AIMS systems to act as the first-level owner at customer production sites. You will diagnose issues, prepare structured descriptions for HQ support, and serve as a technical bridge between customers and headquarters.

The role involves training customers on AIMS usage, contributing to acceptance testing, and developing application use cases to drive continuous improvement. Travel for support and training is required.

Qualifications

• University degree or relevant technical discipline (science, engineering, semiconductor tech)
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Ability to work independently and prioritise multiple topics
• Experience in semiconductor industry or application engineering is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Acts as first-level application owner for AIMS at customer production sites and diagnoses issues
• Prepares clear issue descriptions for HQ support to enable root cause analysis
• Serves as technical bridge between customers and HQ ensuring accurate representation of requirements and findings
• Leads or supports final Acceptance Test Protocol activities for new AIMS systems
• Delivers customer training on AIMS system usage and functionalities
• Develops and shares AIMS-related application use cases and lessons learned
• Tracks customer action items and open issues for timely closure
• Provides remote and on-site technical support to customers with timely guidance
