Job summary

Airwallex, headquartered in San Francisco with a strong APAC footprint, seeks a Senior Manager of Regulatory Operations for the APAC region to design, implement, and improve controls across licensed entities and products. This hands-on role partners with Regulatory Compliance, Legal, Risk, Product, Operations, and Finance to ensure regulator-ready processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in regulatory operations or similar domains.
• Proven ability translating legal requirements into operational controls and testing.
• Direct involvement in regulatory exams, audits, RFIs with ownership.
• Strong project management across cross-functional teams (Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Risk).
• Excellent analytical and writing skills to produce exam-ready materials.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, high-standards environment with evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and operationalize regulatory obligations across APAC jurisdictions into governance and controls.
• Design and embed controls into workflows with cross-functional partners.
• Prepare regulator and partner-ready documentation and evidence.
• Engage regulators, auditors, and partners to discuss obligations and control operation.
• Support regulatory exams, audits, RFIs with coordinated evidence packages.
• Govern changes to controls and update obligations register.
• Contribute to regional regulatory reporting and governance.
• Identify gaps and drive remediation balancing regulatory expectations and business impact.
• Use GRC tooling and dashboards to maintain records and evidence.
