Job summary

Apple APAC is seeking a Manager of the Quality Engineering team to lead a group of Quality Engineers responsible for the thorough preparation and execution of testing on cross-functional systems projects in APAC.

You will mentor and develop the QE team, set quality strategy, champion automation, and communicate risks to senior leadership across IS&T, Engineering, and Product Management.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated, hands-on, detail-oriented leader with strong technical background.
• Proven people-management experience.
• Comfortable across multiple product areas and technology stacks and able to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Quality Engineers.
• Own quality strategy — set direction on test strategy, coverage, and release readiness, adapting as priorities and technology shift.
• Champion automation adoption across your teams, ensuring practices are consistent and scalable.
• Surface risks, tradeoffs, and status to leadership early, with clarity and urgency.
• Translate quality data into actionable insights to shape readiness and investment decisions.
• Advocate for your team — manage scope, timelines, and resourcing while finding workable compromises.
• Navigate ambiguity and make sound calls as requirements and priorities shift.
• Partner cross-functionally with IS&T, Engineering, and Project/Product Management to embed quality early.
• Plan resources and team structure — balance headcount, skill mix, and workload; close skill gaps including automation depth.
