Job summary

French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore is seeking a Business Development Manager – Events & Equipment Support to drive growth across Asia Pacific. Reporting to management, the BDM will build new business, expand the client base, and strengthen partner networks while ensuring the right equipment is available for projects across Singapore and the wider region.

The role requires 3–5 years in BD/B2B sales, strong negotiation and presentation skills, and the willingness to travel for major events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in business development or B2B sales, ideally in events, audiovisual, entertainment, construction or equipment sales/rental.
• Strong track record of winning new accounts and closing deals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Good knowledge of Asia Pacific markets with a regional network is a plus.
• Autonomous, entrepreneurial and creative with a can-do attitude.
• Willingness to travel within the region and work outside office hours during major events.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and win new clients, with a focus on the events industry (organisers, production companies, agencies, venues).
• Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow sales and rental revenues in Singapore and across Asia Pacific.
• Manage and grow relationships with existing clients, partners and distributors.
• Respond to tenders and requests for proposals; lead negotiations through to contract closing.
• Promote new products and innovations to the market.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and upcoming projects; report regularly on pipeline and forecasts.
• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events and networking opportunities.
• Understand client needs and recommend suitable equipment and configurations for each project.
• Coordinate with the operations and technical teams on equipment availability, planning, delivery, installation and return.
• Follow up on orders and rentals to ensure smooth execution and client satisfaction.
• Assist clients with technical and after-sales queries, escalating to the relevant teams when needed.
• Contribute to equipment inventory planning by sharing market insights and upcoming demand.
