Job summary

Western Union seeks a Director of Cross-border Payments for APAC to lead regional execution of funds-out strategy, oversee a product team, and expand digital remittance capabilities across major corridors.

You will partner with engineering, risk, compliance, and commercial leaders to deliver scalable, compliant payout solutions while shaping the regional roadmap and talent development.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of product management in financial services, payments, or fintech.
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing senior product talent.
• Deep understanding of payments, remittances, payout networks, or money movement ecosystems.
• Proven experience owning regional or multi-market product strategies in complex regulatory environments.
• Strong background in agile product development, roadmap ownership, and stakeholder management.
• Strategic mindset with strong communication and executive presence.
• Experience across APAC markets is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated success driving platform modernization, scalability, or network expansion.
• Comfortable operating in a matrixed, global organization.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the APAC funds-out product strategy aligned to global direction and regional needs.
• Lead end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery to delivery and optimization.
• Build and manage Product Managers across regional and remote locations.
• Drive expansion and optimization of payout networks (banks, wallets, cash, alternative methods).
• Partner with engineering and platform teams to deliver scalable, compliant payout solutions.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations for regulatory alignment across APAC markets.
• Use data and market insights to prioritize initiatives and measure success.
• Act as a senior product leader and advocate across the organization.
