Job summary

Amazon Asia-Pacific Resources Private Limited in Singapore is seeking a Backbone Network Business Developer to scale the AWS backbone network across APAC. You will bridge network engineering, commercial strategy, and vendor management to plan, source, and deliver backbone capacity.

The role focuses on wavelengths, dark fiber, submarine cable capacity, and cost-effective topology across long-haul, metro, and subsea paths.

Qualifications

• Experience in network planning, deployment, or commercial implementation in telecoms or hyperscaler environments.
• Ability to use data and metrics to drive improvements.
• Proven track record in financial modeling and business case development.

Responsibilities

• Identify and contract backbone capacity including wavelengths, dark fiber, colocation, and submarine cables for APAC.
• Develop technical and commercial solutions optimizing total cost of ownership and scalability.
• Create backbone plans and investment cases; present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate with multiple suppliers and internal teams to deliver capacity on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with capacity planners and network engineers to optimize topology across longhaul, metro, and subsea paths.
