Job summary

Amazon Asia-Pacific Resources Private Limited (Singapore) seeks a Backbone Network Business Developer to scale AWS backbone capacity across APAC. You will lead supplier identification, evaluate strategic options, and deliver cost-efficient, scalable network solutions in a fast-evolving telecommunications landscape.

Qualifications

• Experience in network planning, construction/implementation, or commercial implementation roles.
• 3+ years in telecommunications or network infrastructure.
• Experience developing financial models, business cases, and investment analyses.
• Experience leading architecture, design, and deployment of large-scale network systems.
• Ability to use data/metrics to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end supplier identification, evaluation, and contracting for backbone capacity, wavelengths, dark fiber, colocation, and submarine cable infrastructure across the APAC region.
• Develop and negotiate technical and commercial solutions that optimize total cost of ownership while ensuring long-term scalability, route diversity, and network resilience.
• Build strategic backbone network plans and investment business cases aligned with long-term capacity forecasts, and present actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders for approval.
• Organize, track, and coordinate across multiple suppliers and internal teams to deliver new backbone capacity on time, within budget, and in compliance with operational standards.
• Partner with capacity planners and network engineers to design the most efficient and cost-effective network topology across longhaul, metro, and subsea paths.
• Collaborate with finance partners on business case development, operational budget planning, and end-to-end financial tracking of projects and supplier commitments.
• Track telecommunications market trends, emerging technologies, supplier diversity, pricing benchmarks, and commercial frameworks to continuously inform sourcing strategy and surface new opportunities.
