Samsonite Brands Private Limited is seeking an Accountant to handle day-to-day A/P and A/R duties and support month-end close at our Singapore office. The role involves reconciliations, cashflow planning, and intercompany activities.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma or higher in accounting, with 1–3 years' experience preferred and SAP knowledge considered an advantage. Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; 1 to 3 years of accounting experience is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred. Hands‑on SAP experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage a high volume of transactions, prioritise multiple tasks, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong team player with accountability, resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work.
• Experience with SOX controls, Concur, and DocuWare will be an added advantage.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and functions.
• Good command.

Responsibilities

• Full spectrum of A/P duties: recording vendor invoices and staff expenses.
• GRIR matching and liaising with logistics on discrepancies.
• Verify and ensure completeness of supporting documents.
• Execute weekly payments and ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Monitor bank accounts and update cash book daily to ensure funds availability.
• Prepare weekly cashflow forecast.
• Disbursement and reimbursement of petty cash.
• Full spectrum of A/R duties: issue intercompany and third‑party debit/credit notes.
• Timely recording of collections and reconcile intercompany receipts.
• Initiate collections on overdue accounts.
• Assist in month-end closing (GL, accruals, prepayments).
• Assist in year-end closing and prepare audit/documents for auditors and tax consultants.
• Assist in ad-hoc assignments and projects as required.
