We are a public accounting corporation in Singapore looking for an Accounting Executive to manage the day-to-day accounting and finance functions of our company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, preparing payments, assisting with month-end closing, and supporting the management team with accounting and financial matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working independently and wants to take ownership of the company’s accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the company’s full set of accounts and ensure accounting records are accurate and up to date.
- Handle daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipts and payments.
- Prepare and process supplier invoices, staff claims and payment transactions.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for management review.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
- Prepare GST returns and ensure timely submission to IRAS.
- Assist with annual audit and liaise with external auditors, tax agents and other professional advisers when required.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and other financial analysis as required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements and company policies.
- Support payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliation where required.
- Perform other accounting and finance duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
- At least 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with experience handling a full set of accounts.
- Good knowledge of Singapore accounting and GST requirements.
- Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and good numerical and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently, manage deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Responsible, organised and able to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Candidates with experience in an SME environment will be advantageous.
