Job summary

Watsons Singapore is seeking an Accountant to lead the financial accounting function, ensuring statutory compliance and timely reporting.

You will supervise Accounts Receivable staff, manage monthly closings, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory year-end filings, while supporting forecasts and budgets.

The role requires a Degree in Accountancy or ACCA, 5 years in FMCG/retail, ERP/Oracle experience, and strong analytical, communication, and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA or equivalent
• 5 years of relevant experience in FMCG or retail with team management
• Experience in ERP/Oracle integrated system
• Self-driven and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of Accounts Receivable staff
• Oversee monthly closing processes and prepare management reports
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare quarterly statements / year-end statutory reports and tax computations
• Assist in forecasts and budgets
• Ensure internal controls are in place and followed
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects as assigned by Finance Manager/FC

Job description

As an Accountant, he/she will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting in accordance with statutory requirements and ensure timely and accurate financial and management reporting

What Awaits You:

• Manage and supervise a team of Accounts Receivable Staff
• Responsible for the monthly financial closing processes and preparation and review of monthly/periodic management reports
• Responsible for the preparation, review and follow of balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation of quarterly statements / year-end statutory reports and preparing of tax computation
• Assist in the preparation of forecasts and budget
• Ensure proper internal controls are in place and being complied
• Assist with any other ad hoc projects as assigned by Finance Manager/Financial Controller

• Minimum Degree in Accountancy or ACCA or its equivalent
• 5 years of relevant experience preferably in FMCG or retail industry and experience with managing a team of accounts staff
