We expect a university degree in automation or electrical engineering, at least five years in automation, strong PLC/HMI skills, and willingness to travel to support global

Qualifications

• University degree in automation or electrical engineering.
• Minimum five years as an automation engineer in a process industry preferred.
• Strong PLC/HMI software knowledge including Siemens S7-1500 and TIA Portal.
• Experience with Siemens Sinamics drive systems and ELPROCAD.
• Willingness to travel and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Establish/maintain global standards for automation across sites.
• Ensure machine safety and reliable operation.
• Perform PLC programming and HMI configuration.
• Lead project management initiatives and cross-functional tasks.

About The Role

In this position, you will collaborate daily with colleagues from various departments, including Maintenance, R&D, Operations Technology, and IT, to address a wide range of issues, design inquiries, and requests. The role is broad, allowing for close cooperation across the organization.

Since you will support Suzuki Garphyttan’s other sites located in United States, China, Mexico and England, you will also have global contacts, which requires you to speak and write English and find it exciting to travel.

About You

We are looking för someone with a college/university degree in automation or electrical engineering. You have a background as an automation engineer and have worked for at least five years, preferably in a process industry. You have good knowledge of PLC/HMI software for the various products as well as basic IT knowledge.

For The Position, It Is Required That You Have

• Knowledge in Electrical engineering
• Experience in Project Management
• Knowledge in PLC programming (Siemens S7-1500, TIA portal and safety PLC)
• Knowledge in HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems
• Knowledge in drive systems from Siemens (Sinamics)
• Experience of design in ELPROCAD

It Is Advantageous If You Have

• Experience with Mitsubishi PLC, Eurotherm Epower, Lenze
