Job summary
Hitachi Energy is seeking an R&D Senior Engineer to design and optimize control algorithms for MMC- and LCC-based HVDC systems, including MTDC configurations. You will perform stability analyses, harmonic studies, and transient simulations to ensure robust performance.
You will lead system-level evaluations, contribute to roadmaps, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate in a global, innovation-focused environment.
Qualifications
- PhD or MSc in Power Systems, Electrical Machines and Drives, or Power Electronics Control.
- Several years of experience in HVDC or FACTS technologies.
- Strong knowledge of MMC topologies and HVDC control systems.
- Experience in small-signal stability analysis and transient simulations.
- Proficient in MATLAB, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP-RV, and ideally Modelica, RTDS, Python, C/C++.
- Open-minded, solution-oriented, and collaborative with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in English is required.
