Job summary
Hitachi Energy Sweden, Ludvika, is seeking an R&D Engineer to develop advanced control strategies for MMC- and LCC-based HVDC systems. You will design and optimize control algorithms, perform stability analyses and transient simulations, and contribute to system-level evaluations.

Qualifications
- PhD or MSc in Power Systems, Electrical Machines and Drives, or Power Electronics Control.
- Preference for HVDC or FACTS technologies experience.
- Strong knowledge of MMC topologies and HVDC control systems.
- Proven expertise in small-signal stability analysis and transient simulations.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP-RV, Modelica, Dymola, RTDS, Python, C/C++.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize control algorithms for MMC- and LCC-based HVDC systems.
- Conduct small-signal stability analysis, harmonic studies and transient simulations.
- Contribute to system-level dynamic performance evaluations and improvements.
- Support strategic technology roadmaps and HVDC control system development.
