Job summary

Alfdex is expanding its R&D organization and is recruiting two Mechanical Design Engineers to advance the mechanical development of our electric drive units. Based at Landskrona HQ, you will develop robust, manufacturable platform solutions and support customer projects.

You will collaborate with mechanics, electronics and software teams, work with suppliers and manufacturing, participate in design reviews and validation, and contribute to long-term drive unit concepts.

Qualifications

• A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Strong experience with modern 3D CAD systems; Creo is advantageous.
• Experience working closely with manufacturing, suppliers and product development teams.
• Professional proficiency in English; Swedish is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining mechanical designs, CAD models, drawings and BOMs for electric drive units.
• Driving the mechanical development of the generic drive unit platform with internal teams and external partners.
• Collaborating with mechanics, electronics and software to develop mechatronic products.
• Supporting customer projects, engineering changes and continuous product improvements.
• Working closely with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure robust, manufacturable and cost-efficient designs.
• Participating in investigations, design reviews, validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contributing to long-term development of future drive unit concepts and technologies.

YOU WILL

As one of our new Mechanical Design Engineers, you will focus on the mechanical development of Alfdex' electric drive units - an essential part of our next-generation products combining mechanics, electronics and electric motors. You will play a central role in developing generic platform solutions while also supporting customer-specific projects and continuous product improvements. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining mechanical designs, CAD models, drawings and BOMs for electric drive units.
• Driving the mechanical development of Alfdex' generic drive unit platform together with internal teams and external development partners.
• Collaborating closely with colleagues within mechanics, electronics and software to develop next-generation mechatronic products
• Supporting customer projects, engineering changes and continuous product improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Working closely with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure robust, manufacturable and cost-efficient designs.
• Participating in technical investigations, design reviews, validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contributing to the long-term development of future drive unit concepts and technologies.

You will based at our HQ in Landskrona and Occasional travel may be required as part of this role.

YOU ARE

We are looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges and want to contribute to the development of innovative products in an international engineering environment. You are curious, communicative and motivated by working in a dynamic environment where you can influence both solutions and ways of working. You combine a structured and proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills, and you are comfortable working both independently and in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. We believe you have:

• A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Strong experience working with modern 3D CAD systems; experience from Creo is an advantage.
• Experience working closely with manufacturing, suppliers and product development teams.
• Professional proficiency in English is required, and Swedish is considered a strong plus.

Experience within mechatronics, electric motors, electronics packaging, automotive or other high-quality manufacturing industries is considered highly valuable, as is knowledge of verification, validation and Design for Manufacturing principles.
