Job summary

Alfdex is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to advance the mechanical development of electric drive units. You will create and maintain CAD models, drawings and BOMs for drive systems and work with internal teams and external partners on a generic platform.

You will collaborate with mechanics, electronics and software to deliver next-gen mechatronic products, support customer projects and driving continuous improvement across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Strong experience with modern 3D CAD systems; Creo is an advantage.
• Experience working with manufacturing, suppliers and product development teams.
• Professional proficiency in English; Swedish a strong plus.
• Experience in mechatronics, electric motors, electronics packaging or automotive industries; DFx knowledge valued.

• Develop and maintain mechanical designs, CAD models, drawings and BOMs for electric drive units.
• Drive the mechanical development of Alfdex' generic drive unit platform together with internal teams and external development partners.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues within mechanics, electronics and software to develop next-generation mechatronic products.
• Support customer projects, engineering changes and continuous product improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure robust, manufacturable and cost-efficient designs.
• Participate in technical investigations, design reviews, validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the long-term development of future drive unit concepts and technologies.

Requirements

• A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Strong experience working with modern 3D CAD systems; experience from Creo is an advantage.
• Experience working closely with manufacturing, suppliers and product development teams.
• Professional proficiency in English is required, and Swedish is considered a strong plus.
• Experience within mechatronics, electric motors, electronics packaging, automotive or other high-quality manufacturing industries is considered highly valuable, as is knowledge of verification, validation and Design for Manufacturing principles.
