Job summary

Haldex in Landskrona, Sweden, seeks a Junior Design Engineer to join our four product groups in new product development and ongoing maintenance. You will develop design solutions, participate in supplier discussions, and help create internal technical specifications from conception to manufacture.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, is fluent in English, and has CREO, PDM, MathCAD, and basic FEA knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Material knowledge and knowledge of manufacturing methods.
• Proficiency with CREO CAD system.
• Knowledge of PDM system and MathCAD.
• Tolerance analysis using software or other methods.
• Base knowledge in Finite Element Analysis software, preferably ANSYS Workbench.
• Good knowledge in Office software applications.
• Fluent in English, verbally and in writing.
• Experience in automotive industry; Heavy Truck/Bus experience is meritorious.

Responsibilities

• Development of new products.
• Develop design solutions to meet required specifications.
• Evaluate design solutions related to supplier process and internal assembly process with focus on total cost.
• Support the development of the product from conception through to manufacture and its maintenance.
• Participate in technical discussions with suppliers and customers.
• Create internal technical requirement specifications on product.
• Support development of new test methods for new design elements/sub-systems.
• Improve and develop current products (Product Maintenance).
• Understand and work according to Haldex Change Management Process for changes.
• Review Customer product requirements and create/update technical specifications (drawings, models, calculations).
• Analyze results from calculations and tests; take corrective actions.
• Support in quality-related activities including root cause analysis (8D).

Junior Design Engineer

Are you at an early stage in your career? We are looking for a Design Engineer to be part of new product development as well as product maintenance in Landskrona. You will be involved in four product groups and work on project-oriented tasks across the SAF/Holland group.

Job Description

• Development of new products
• Develop design solutions to meet required specifications
• Evaluate design solutions related to supplier process and internal assembly process with focus on the total cost solution
• Support the development of the product from conception through to manufacture and its maintenance
• Participate in technical discussions with suppliers and customers
• Create internal technical requirement specifications on product
• Support development of new test methods for new design elements/sub-systems

Product Maintenance

• Improve and develop current products
• Understand and work according to Haldex Change Management Process for changes

Other

• Review Customer product requirements
• Create and update technical specifications, i.e., drawings, models, calculations etc.
• Analyze results from calculations and performed tests
• Take actions when faults are discovered both on product and in process
• Support in quality related activities including root cause analysis (ex. 8D method)

Education And Experiences

• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• We expect that you have material knowledge and knowledge of manufacturing methods
• A documented skill in a CAD system, preferably CREO
• Knowledge in PDM system and base knowledge in MathCAD
• Tolerance analysis using software or other methodology
