Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Head of Exchange Infrastructure to own the platform that powers every Kraken product. You will lead a small, independent team to consolidate multiple matching engines into a single, interface-agnostic stack, aligning product, engineering, risk, and compliance around a unified strategy.

You will guide the roadmap for the exchange layer, drive performance targets, and partner with engineering leaders to migrate capabilities without disrupting live markets.

Qualifications

• Senior product leader with experience in exchange, trading, or high-performance platforms.
• Experience managing and developing product managers on a senior team.
• Proven ability to set product vision and translate into long-term roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the exchange layer: matching engine, core infrastructure, custody, and API engine.
• Lead and grow a team of four to five product managers; set the bar for product craft across the layer.
• Consolidate multiple matching engines into one, starting with US derivatives, then international derivatives, then spot.
• Build interfaces that are common across products so teams can build on the same platform.
• Define success metrics (latency, throughput, uptime, resiliency) and hold teams accountable.
