Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Pro Verifications team to own the technical direction of verification across the KYC/KYB flow. You will shape architecture, define contracts, and drive patterns that scale with users, regulators, and vendors.

You will be hands-on across the stack, write ADRs, and mentor senior engineers to raise security, reliability, and compliance bar. This role requires designing fail-closed behavior and audit trails that withstand regulatory scrutiny while keeping

Qualifications

Around eight years building and running production systems.
Deep, fluent expertise in Rust, with the ability to work across TypeScript and React where verification meets the customer.
Set architecture that others build on; demonstrate classes of failure designed out.
Built teams faster through patterns, tooling, or mentoring.

Responsibilities

Set the shape of the verification services and their contracts across the KYC/KYB flow.
Decide how we abstract KYC and KYB vendors to prevent outages.
Design fail-closed behavior and audit trails for regulatory scrutiny.
Identify recurring failure classes and remove them.
Write and drive architecture decisions (ADRs) and ensure security at design time.
Mentor senior engineers through design reviews and code feedback.
Be measured on verification speed, coverage, and reliability improvements.
