Job summary

Tata Technologies in Gothenburg is seeking a Design Engineering Analyst – Perceived Quality to join an innovative engineering team focused on delivering outstanding product quality, craftsmanship, and premium customer experiences.

You will collaborate with Design, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program teams to evaluate, define, and drive perceived quality requirements across development phases, using CAD and digital validation tools to identify issues early.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Experience in automotive product development or similar environments.
• Understanding of geometry assurance and tolerance management.
• Experience with CAD systems and digital visualization tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

About the Assignment

True quality is often found in the details. The way surfaces align, gaps are controlled, and components integrate seamlessly plays a critical role in how customers perceive a product.

Within Perceived Quality Geometry, the mission is to secure harmonized fit & finish, outstanding detail execution, and premium craftsmanship throughout the entire product. This role serves as the voice of the customer within product development, ensuring that quality expectations are translated into measurable requirements and delivered effectively.

As a Design Engineering Analyst, you will work closely with Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program teams to evaluate, define, and drive perceived quality requirements across all development phases.

Main Responsibilities

As a Design Engineering Analyst, you will:

• Define and develop Perceived Quality Geometry requirements and guidelines.
• Drive harmonized fit & finish across complete vehicle systems.
• Evaluate geometry and appearance execution during both virtual and physical development phases.
• Utilize digital validation and visualization tools to identify critical issues early in the development process.
• Support product programs with technical analyses, recommendations, and decision-making material.
• Collaborate closely with Design, Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Program Management teams.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of methods, standards, and assessment processes.
• Represent the customer perspective throughout product development activities.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience within automotive product development or similar engineering environments.
• Understanding of geometry assurance, dimensional engineering, tolerance management, or vehicle integration.
• Experience working with CAD systems and digital visualization tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Experience within Perceived Quality, Fit & Finish, or Craftsmanship development.
• Knowledge of virtual validation and visualization methodologies.
• Experience working in cross-functional automotive development programs.
• Understanding of premium product development and customer-centric quality assessments.
