Job summary

Telia is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in Gothenburg. You’ll develop data science, ML and AI capabilities, including building AI agents and workflows with LLMs and RAG, in a secure, scalable production environment.

Collaborate with business experts and engineers to identify high-value use cases and drive digital evolution. The role requires Swedish and English fluency, with three days per week in the office.

• Experience taking AI/ML solutions from concept to production.
• Fluency in English and Swedish; Gothenburg-based with office presence three days per week.

We're looking for a Data Scientist to join us at Telia. I'm Niklas Ballay, Head of Digital Evolution & Automation, and I’m searching for someone ready to grow with us. We’re a supportive, forward-thinking team that develops data, automation and AI capabilities to create measurable value across Telia Infra.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement solutions within data science, machine learning and AI, including predictive models and advanced analytics.
• Design build and deploy AI agents and intelligent workflows using LLMs, RAG, vector databases and modern AI frameworks.
• Own the technical setup and lifecycle of AI solutions, ensuring they are secure, scalable, maintainable and ready for production in a mixed IT environment.
• Collaborate with business experts, data engineers, analysts and product owners to identify high-value use cases and support digital change.

What Will Help You Thrive In This Role

• Proven experience in data science, agentic AI, AI engineering or a related field, including taking AI/ML solutions from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of Python, machine learning, generative AI, LLMs and RAG solutions.
• Ability to translate complex business needs into secure and scalable technical solutions and work independently in a complex IT environment.
• Fluency in English and Swedish. The role is based in Gothenburg and includes office presence three days per week.
