Job summary

QCS Staffing seeks a Construction Health and Safety Coordinator for a Sweden-based 12-month contract to oversee safety on major pharma construction projects. You will ensure compliance with HSE regulations, lead safety reviews, and foster a culture of wellbeing on site.

You will act as the HSE SME, monitor contractor performance, conduct inspections and investigations, and drive continuous improvement while supporting leadership and stakeholder collaboration across project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive experience within HVAC, Cleanroom or CQV environments, ideally supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or other highly regulated facilities.
• Proven Construction Health & Safety experience on major capital projects, with strong knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, contractor management, and compliance requirements.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, WSH Certificate/Diploma, IOSH or equivalent), with the ability to lead audits, site inspections and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Construction Health, Safety & Wellbeing SME, providing assurance, guidance and oversight across multiple construction projects.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance, ensuring competent resources, compliant Construction Phase Plans, and adherence to all relevant legal and site requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, worker engagements and incident investigations, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support safety leadership, reporting, stakeholder collaboration, and the promotion of a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture across project teams.
