Job summary

SilverBack is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join our Swedish team on a 12-month contractor basis with a 17-day on/4-day off rotation. You'll lead on-site health and safety initiatives across large-scale projects, including international hyperscaler work, and ensure compliance with global safety standards in collaboration with local and international stakeholders.

Experience with on-site safety management, strong communication, and Boots-on-Ground capability is essential to drive safety

Job description

• Location: Gavle, Sweden (with a rotation of 17 days on, 4 days off)

About Us:

We are a growing infrastructure contractor with significant projects across Sweden, including large-scale substation works and projects with hyperscalers like Google. We are looking to strengthen our health and safety team with proactive and experienced individuals.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team. This "boots on the ground" role requires someone who can take charge, manage projects effectively, and ensure our health and safety standards meet international expectations. You will be instrumental in helping our Swedish team react and manage jobs in line with the fast-paced demands of hyperscalers and major general contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Health and safety initiatives on large-scale projects, including a €50 million project near Jävla and substation works at Horndal.
• Represent the company in meetings, taking the lead on health and safety discussions.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards, particularly those relevant to Irish, British, and American marketplaces.
• Provide hands-on project running and oversight for health and safety.
• Collaborate with the existing team to enhance proactive health and safety management.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within an international construction or infrastructure environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices relevant to hyperscalers or large general contractors.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders and ensuring clear understanding of safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in a "boots on the ground" capacity, actively managing on-site safety.
• Experience with a 17-day on, 4-day off rotation schedule is a plus.
