Job summary

Red Sea Global seeks a Workshop Supervisor to lead the project workshop for heavy construction, dredging, and marine operations in Saudi Arabia. You will plan, supervise, and control maintenance activities to maximize availability and readiness of dredging machines, marine vessels, and support equipment.

You will ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance aligns with manufacturer recommendations, company standards, and HSE requirements, coordinating with technicians, operators,

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor's in mechanical, marine, heavy equipment engineering, industrial maintenance or related field.
  • 3–5 years in a supervisory or workshop management role.
  • Experience maintaining dredging equipment, heavy construction machinery, pumps, generators, and marine vessels.
  • Familiarity with CMMS/EAM systems and maintenance planning.
  • Knowledge of safety, HSE and regulatory requirements in maritime environments.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily workshop operations and maintenance planning.
  • Allocate tasks to technicians and ensure on-time completion.
  • Monitor equipment availability and workshop productivity.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure repairs meet specs.
  • Coordinate spares, inventory, and procurement for maintenance.
  • Enforce HSE policies, PTW/LOTO, and safety trainings.

Job Purpose

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and controlling all workshop maintenance activities to ensure the maximum availability, reliability, and operational readiness of heavy construction equipment, dredging machines, suction pumps, marine vessels, generators, trailers, workshop machinery, and support equipment used in beach restoration, shoreline rehabilitation, and marine dredging operations.

The role ensures that all preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer recommendations, Red Sea Global maintenance standards, Saudi Arabian regulations, and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements.

Location: Shura, Shebara, Laheq, Turtle Bay Village, Nujuma & Ummahat Islands, Amaala, Red Sea Global Projects Saudi Arabia

Works Closely With: Mechanical Technicians, Electricians, Welders, Storekeeper, Heavy Machinery Drivers, Dredging Machine Operators, Suction Pump Operators, Marine Crew, QHSE Officer, Procurement Team and Equipment Suppliers

Job Responsibilities

The Workshop Supervisor shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Workshop Management
  • Supervise the daily operations of the project workshop.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Allocate maintenance work to Mechanical Technicians, Electricians, Welders, and Helpers.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed within planned schedules.
  • Monitor equipment availability and workshop productivity.
  • Maintain workshop discipline, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer maintenance procedures and company standards.
Equipment Maintenance

Supervise maintenance and repair activities for:

  • Dredging Machines.
  • Portable Suction Dredge Pumps.
  • Hydraulic Pumps.
  • Amphibious Excavators.
  • Excavators.
  • Wheel Loaders.
  • Bulldozers.
  • Backhoe Loaders.
  • Skid Steer Loaders.
  • Heavy Trucks and Trailers.
  • Diesel Generators.
  • Compressors.
  • Speed Boats.
  • Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs).
  • Floating Pipelines.
  • Workshop Equipment.
  • Welding Machines.
  • Hydraulic Power Packs.
  • Fuel Transfer Systems.
Maintenance Planning
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules based on operating hours and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Plan equipment shutdowns to minimize operational disruption.
  • Monitor maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Review equipment maintenance history and identify recurring failures.
  • Implement predictive maintenance techniques where applicable.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
Technical Support
  • Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural failures.
  • Review repair methods and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure repairs comply with technical specifications.
  • Verify equipment performance following maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and authorized service providers.
Spare Parts & Inventory Control
  • Coordinate with the Storekeeper to maintain adequate inventory of critical spare parts.
  • Review spare parts consumption and forecast future requirements.
  • Raise Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for maintenance materials and components.
  • Verify receipt and quality of spare parts before installation.
  • Monitor inventory levels of lubricants, filters, hydraulic components, welding consumables, and maintenance tools.
  • Control maintenance costs through effective inventory management.
Workshop Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company HSE policies and procedures.
  • Enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before major maintenance activities.
  • Ensure workshop personnel wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain workshop housekeeping and safe storage of hazardous materials.
  • Inspect lifting equipment, cranes, slings, and workshop tools.
  • Monitor compliance with fire safety and emergency procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.
Marine Equipment Support
  • Coordinate maintenance of marine vessels and outboard engines.
  • Supervise repairs to dredging pipelines, floating pontoons, anchors, and marine support equipment.
  • Support emergency repairs for equipment operating in remote island locations.
  • Ensure marine equipment is maintained to operational readiness.

  • GCC or Middle East experience is highly preferred.

Job Context

Candidates with experience in beach restoration, marine dredging, coastal engineering, offshore construction, ports, harbors, land reclamation, heavy civil infrastructure, mining, or industrial maintenance will be given preference. Experience supervising maintenance of dredging equipment, amphibious excavators, heavy construction machinery, suction pumps, marine vessels, diesel generators, hydraulic systems, and workshop facilities in coastal or remote island environments is highly desirable.

Previous experience on Red Sea Global, NEOM, AMAALA, Saudi Aramco, or other major GCC marine and coastal infrastructure projects, along with expertise in maintenance planning, asset management, workshop operations, and CMMS/SAP PM systems, will be considered a significant advantage.
