Job summary

MBRF is seeking a skilled mechanical technician to join its global food manufacturing team in Jeddah. You will perform repairs, welding, and maintenance on plant machinery, and support safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a technical diploma in Mechanical Trade, at least 3 years of machine shop experience, and hands-on welding experience. Based in Jeddah or willing to relocate, you will read drawings and collaborate with maintenance colleagues.

Qualifications

• Diploma/certificate in Mechanical Trade or similar technical field.
• At least 3 years' experience in machine shop and mechanical maintenance.
• Hands-on arc, gas, and argon/TIG welding experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repair, refurbishment, and welding for machinery.
• Operate lathe, milling, shaper, planer, drill press, grinders, and band saw.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance per standards.
• Inspect and maintain workshop equipment and tools.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability with Maintenance team.
• Ensure workshop housekeeping and compliance with HSE, GMP, 5S, HACCP and food safety.

What will you be doing at MBRF?

• Perform mechanical repair, refurbishment, modification, welding and fabrication activities for machinery and equipment
• Operate machine shop equipment such as lathe, milling machine, shaper, planer, drill press, grinders and band saw
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to established maintenance standards and procedures
• Inspect and maintain workshop equipment, special tools and spare equipment in good working condition
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability activities together with the Maintenance team
• Ensure proper workshop housekeeping and comply with HSE, GMP, 5S, HACCP and food safety requirements

What kind of profile are we looking for?

• Technical diploma/certificate in Mechanical Trade, Turning, Welding or a related technical field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in machine shop, welding and mechanical maintenance activities, preferably within Food/FMCG or a similar industrial environment
• Hands-on experience in arc welding, gas welding and argon/TIG welding
• Experience operating lathe, milling, drilling, grinding and other machine shop equipment
• Knowledge of mechanical components, drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and lubrication
• Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
• Basic knowledge of SAP and MS Office is an advantage
• Business-level English proficiency
• Based in Jeddah or willing to relocate
