Job summary

Samara in Jeddah is seeking a seasoned Workshop Manager to oversee maintenance operations regionally, ensuring fleet availability, cost control, and safety compliance.

You will lead workshop teams, coordinate with service providers, drive process improvements, and report KPIs to the National Maintenance Manager. Fluency in English and Arabic required with a Bachelor’s in mechanical/automotive engineering, and 6–8 years of relevant experience, plus knowledge of ERP systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/automotive engineering or related field.
  • Extensive 6–8 years of workshop management and maintenance operations experience in fleet/rental/automotive/heavy machinery.
  • Fluency in English & Arabic.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems, ERP and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily workshop operations and regional maintenance activities to ensure vehicle availability.
  • Lead workshop supervisors, foremen, and technicians to maintain productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Monitor and control regional maintenance costs, spare parts usage, and adherence to budgets.
  • Manage relationships with local service providers, dealerships, and spare parts suppliers; ensure timely, quality services.
  • Ensure fleet availability by timely maintenance and repairs to support rental/leasing operations.
  • Coordinate warranty claims and accident repairs with OEMs and insurers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OEM guidelines, and regulatory requirements; uphold HSE standards.
  • Prepare and present regional KPI, maintenance cost, downtime, and workshop performance reports to National Maintenance Manager.

Main Job Purpose

Responsible for managing and overseeing all maintenance operations within their assigned region. This includes ensuring fleet availability, controlling maintenance costs, supervising workshops, and coordinating with external service providers. The role ensures that maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company policies, OEM standards, and safety regulations while achieving operational efficiency and high customer satisfaction.

Accountabilities
  • Workshop & Maintenance Operations – Oversee daily preventive and corrective maintenance activities within the assigned region to ensure vehicle availability.
  • Team Management – Supervise workshop supervisors, foremen, and technicians, ensuring high productivity, quality, and safety standards.
  • Cost Control – Monitor and control regional maintenance expenses, spare parts usage, and ensure cost efficiency in line with approved budgets.
  • Vendor Coordination – Manage relationships with local service providers, dealerships, and spare parts suppliers; ensure timely delivery and quality of services.
  • Fleet Availability – Ensure all vehicles are maintained and repaired on time to support rental and leasing operations, minimizing downtime.
  • Warranty & Claims – Coordinate with OEMs and insurers to process warranty claims and accident repairs effectively.
  • Compliance & SOPs – Ensure adherence to company policies, OEM guidelines, and regulatory requirements across workshops.
  • Reporting – Submit accurate regional reports on KPIs, maintenance costs, downtime, and workshop performance to the National Maintenance Manager.
  • Process Improvement – Recommend and implement improvements in workshop processes, tooling, and systems for higher efficiency.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with Operations, Fleet, and Procurement teams to align maintenance activities with business needs.
  • Ensure staff training and development, conduct performance evaluations, succession planning.
  • Ensure workshop safety, housekeeping, environmental compliance, and maintain strong HSE culture.
Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/automotive engineering or related field
  • Extensive experience between 6-8 years in workshop management, maintenance operations, ideally within the relevant industry (fleet, rental equipment, automotive, heavy machinery).
  • Fluency in English & Arabic.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems, ERP and MS Office tools.
