Job summary

Almarai in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Veterinarian to safeguard dairy cattle health, welfare, and productivity across our large-scale farming network. You will lead preventive care, diagnose and treat conditions, and collaborate with farm operations to optimize milk production.

The role requires a DVM or equivalent and 2–3 years of dairy farm experience, strong herd health knowledge, and the ability to work in farm environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine is required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of dairy farm experience.
  • Experience with herd health, reproduction management, and disease control.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain health status of dairy cattle through regular inspections and preventive programs.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and herd health issues.
  • Develop vaccination, deworming, and biosecurity programs.
  • Provide reproductive health support including calving management and fertility monitoring.
  • Collaborate with farm management to optimize milk production.
  • Maintain medical records, treatment logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Train farm staff on animal handling, hygiene, and early disease detection.
  • Ensure adherence to animal welfare standards and company policies.
  • Support audits and regulatory compliance related to veterinary practices.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Veterinarian to support our large-scale dairy farming operations. The role focuses on ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of dairy cattle through preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment, while working closely with farm operations teams.

The Veterinarian will be responsible for ensuring the health, productivity, and welfare of dairy cattle across assigned farms. This role plays a critical part in disease prevention, treatment, herd health management, and supporting overall farm performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the health status of dairy cattle through regular inspections and preventive programs
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and overall herd health issues
  • Develop and implement vaccination, deworming, and biosecurity programs
  • Provide reproductive health support including calving management and fertility monitoring
  • Collaborate with farm management and nutrition teams to optimize animal performance and milk production
  • Maintain accurate medical records, treatment logs, and compliance documentation
  • Train farm staff on animal handling, hygiene, and early disease detection
  • Ensure adherence to animal welfare standards and company policies
  • Support audits and regulatory compliance related to veterinary and farm practices
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine (DVM or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in dairy farm or large-scale livestock operations
  • Strong knowledge of herd health, dairy production, and preventive veterinary practices
  • Experience in reproductive management and disease control
  • Ability to work in farm environments and manage large herds
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in large commercial dairy operations
  • Familiarity with modern herd management systems
  • International experience in dairy farm operations is an advantage
