Job summary

King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh seeks a Urogynecology Consultant to lead evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical management of female pelvic floor disorders. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered urogynecologic care.

The role includes performing pelvic reconstructive surgeries, sling procedures, and minimally invasive approaches, alongside outpatient and pre/post-operative care, with on-call responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Post-qualification certification (ABMS/RCPS-C/GMC-CCST/FRACP or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of female pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence and prolapse.
• Perform pelvic reconstructive surgeries and minimally invasive approaches.
• Collaborate with gynecology, urology, physiotherapy and related specialties to develop care plans.
• Offer outpatient and pre/post-operative assessments and follow-up.
• Participate in on-call coverage and emergency management as required.
• Supervise and train residents and junior staff in urogynecological practices.
• Engage in quality improvement, audits, and development of clinical guidelines.

Summary

Responsible to provide specialized care in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of female pelvic floor disorders. The Consultant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and contribute to the ongoing education and training within the department.

Education/Qualifications Required:

1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
2. Post-qualification certification
   • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
   • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
   • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
   • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
   • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
   • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

• Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES)
• Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of female pelvic floor dysfunction, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and other urogynecological conditions.
• Perform specialized procedures and surgeries such as pelvic reconstructive surgery, sling procedures, and minimally invasive approaches.
• Collaborate with gynecology, urology, physiotherapy, and other related specialties to develop individualized care plans.
• Offer outpatient consultations, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative follow-up.
• Participate in on-call coverage and emergency management as required.
• Supervise and train residents, medical students, and junior staff in urogynecological practices and procedures.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
