Job summary

Sports and Entertainment Company operates GALAXEA dive centres across The Red Sea destination and AMAALA. The Dive Technician ensures safe, reliable maintenance of diving equipment, life-support systems, and related assets to support guest experiences.

Reporting to the Dive Center Manager, you service compressors, cylinders, and vessels, maintain records, and uphold PADI standards while contributing to safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Certification in dive equipment servicing or related technical discipline required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience maintaining diving equipment in a commercial dive centre or marine operations.
  • Strong knowledge of regulators, BCDs, compressors, cylinders, and life-support equipment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance schedules and asset management systems.
  • English written/spoken; Arabic an advantage.

Job Purpose

The Dive Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance, servicing, and operational readiness of all diving equipment and technical assets across GALAXEA dive centres within The Red Sea and AMAALA destinations. Reporting to the Dive Center Manager, the role supports daily dive operations by maintaining life-support equipment, compressors, cylinders, boats, and associated facilities in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, PADI standards, and company procedures.

The Dive Technician plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, operational safety, and asset longevity while supporting dive operations, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repairs of diving equipment, including regulators, BCDs, cylinders, masks, fins, wetsuits, and other life-support equipment.
  • Maintain compressors, air filtration systems, cylinder filling stations, and associated equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct cylinder inspections, testing coordination, filling operations, and documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Prepare, inspect, and issue diving equipment for daily operations, ensuring all equipment is clean, functional, and safe for guest use.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise operational downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment service logs, inspection reports, and asset registers.
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts, tools, consumables, and replacement equipment, coordinating procurement requirements when necessary.
  • Support dive operations by preparing equipment, loading vessels, and assisting with operational logistics as required.
  • Ensure workshops, compressor rooms, storage facilities, and technical work areas remain clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
  • Assist with commissioning new equipment and supporting the mobilisation of new dive centres and operational assets.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, authorised service centres, and suppliers regarding servicing, warranty claims, and technical support.
  • Ensure compliance with GALAXEA, RSG, PADI, manufacturer, and destination-specific policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management practices to protect guests, employees, company assets, and the marine environment.
  • Participate in emergency response preparedness and ensure emergency equipment remains operational and serviceable.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, operational performance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dive Center Manager.
Job Requirements
Skills & Experience
  • Qualification or certification in dive equipment servicing, mechanical engineering, marine engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Aqualung, Scubapro, Apeks, Mares, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience maintaining diving equipment within a commercial dive centre, resort, or marine operations environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulators, BCDs, compressors, cylinders, gas filling systems, and life-support equipment.
  • Experience with compressor maintenance and air quality monitoring is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with equipment servicing schedules, preventive maintenance programmes, and asset management systems.
  • Knowledge of diving safety standards and equipment inspection requirements.
  • Valid Fit to Dive Medical Certificate is desirable.
  • PADI Divemaster certification or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of workshop safety, manual handling, and risk management practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance record management systems.
