Job Title: Technical Sales Manager – Utility Scale Solar Projects

Role Purpose
The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and business development for utility-scale solar PV mega projects in Saudi Arabia. The role combines strong technical expertise in solar engineering and service operations with commercial acumen to support pre-sales, bidding, and post-award technical coordination. The position plays a critical role in delivering technically sound, competitive, and bankable solutions aligned with client requirements and Saudi market standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Sales & Pre-Sales Support
- Lead technical sales activities for utility-scale solar PV projects, including EPC and service-based solutions.
- Support pre-sales, RFIs, RFPs, and tenders by preparing technical proposals, solution designs, and cost-effective system configurations.
- Act as the technical interface between clients, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders during bid and negotiation stages.
- Conduct technical presentations, solution workshops, and project clarifications with clients and consultants.
2. Utility-Scale Solar Engineering & Service Expertise
- Provide in-depth technical support based on prior service engineering experience in solar utility projects.
- Support O&M, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root cause analysis for solar PV plants.
- Ensure proposed solutions consider long-term reliability, performance guarantees, and serviceability.
- Contribute to life-cycle costing, yield optimization, and plant availability strategies.
3. Solar Tracker Systems
- Lead technical evaluation and commercial positioning of solar tracker systems (single-axis preferred).
- Support tracker selection, layout optimization, and compatibility with site conditions (terrain, wind, soil).
- Coordinate with tracker OEMs for technical specifications, pricing, warranties, and performance data.
- Address tracker-related technical risks, installation constraints, and operational considerations.
4. Business Development & Client Engagement
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within utility-scale solar and renewable energy projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, EPC contractors, utilities, consultants, and government entities.
- Support negotiations by balancing technical requirements with commercial objectives.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and technology advancements in the Saudi solar sector.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Service teams to ensure alignment between sales commitments and delivery capabilities.
- Support project handover from sales to execution teams, ensuring clear technical scope and contractual understanding.
- Participate in technical risk reviews and internal bid approval processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Strong background in service engineering, O&M, or commissioning within solar power plants.
- Proven experience in technical sales or pre-sales for EPC, equipment, or service solutions.
- Mandatory exposure to solar tracker systems (design, installation, operation, or technical support).
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or GCC markets is highly preferred.
