Job description

Astek KSA is supporting the establishment of a new technology office in Al Qassim as part of a strategic expansion. We are seeking a Senior SAUDI Technical Lead to take full ownership of the technical direction, delivery quality, and engineering leadership of the local office.

This is a foundational role: you will act as the technical reference, mentor local engineers, and ensure that technology initiatives are aligned with business objectives, scalability, and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Act as the technical authority for the Al Qassim office, ensuring high standards of software design, architecture, and delivery.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable systems (primarily .NET-based).
• Define and enforce coding standards, architectural principles, and best practices (Clean Architecture, SOLID, TDD).
• Review technical designs, pull requests, and key implementation decisions.

Team & Office Enablement

• Mentor, guide, and upskill software engineers and technical team members.
• Promote a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Organize knowledge-sharing sessions and technical workshops.
• Support recruitment from a technical evaluation perspective.

Delivery & Stakeholder Alignment

• Collaborate closely with product, business, and operations stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions and delivery roadmaps.
• Ensure timely delivery while maintaining code quality and system stability.
• Take ownership of applications across their lifecycle (build, run, improve).

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong backend focus.
• Proven experience in a technical leadership, senior engineer, or lead developer role.
• Strong expertise in .NET / ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, and backend systems.
• Solid experience in database design and optimization.
• Good working knowledge of frontend technologies (React preferred).
• Hands-on experience with: Microservices architecture, Event-driven systems, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Clean Architecture & SOLID principles
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Saudi and available to work onsite in Al Qassim.

Nice to Have (Plus Points)

• Exposure to FHIR / HL7 standards.
• Basic experience with Node.js or Python.
• Experience with Firebase.
• Previous involvement in setting up or scaling a technical team or office.
