Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier qualification audits and PPAP submissions. You will coordinate with the NPI team, visit suppliers, close non-conformities, and monitor supplier performance. The role emphasizes data analytics, quality tooling proficiency, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 6–8 years in supplier quality management.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Proficient in quality tools (8D, 5 Why, SPC, Pareto, RCA).
• PPAP, QMS/IATF/VDA internal auditing knowledge.
• Strong manufacturing process knowledge.
• Data analytics and presentation skills (Power BI, Minitab).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; English fluent; local language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Audit supplier qualification per defined process.
• Generate PPAP requests in Arena with NPI team.
• Visit supplier for PPAP audit and close actions.
• Collate and submit supplier quality documents to customer on time.
• Perform periodic supplier process audits and close non-conformities.
• Support Quality Manager to monitor supplier quality and performance.
• Issue MDCC and maintain shipment records in system.
• Prepare monthly reports on parts, product and document issues.
• Visit sites for critical quality issues and drive RCA-based actions.
• Conduct NCR analysis with supplier using 8D method.
• Train supplier team on quality tools.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of part and site performance.
• Develop ideas to automate documentation and processes.
• Apply Six Sigma to improve processes.
• Evaluate new requirements using VOC data.
• Travel to suppliers/sites/customers ~70% of the time.

Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer Job Details : Conduct Supplier Qualification Audit for new supplier as per defined process. Generate PPAP request in Arena for specific supplier in coordination with NPI team. Visit the supplier for PPAP Audit, conduct review of entire process, generate actions wherever required and work with supplier to close the actions. Collate and evaluate all the quality document from supplier as per acceptable reference standard and submit to customer on time. Perform periodic process audit at supplier and close all non-conformities by working with suppliers. Support the Quality Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance. Issue Material dispatch clearance certificate (MDCC) to supplier after verifying the data and keep record of all the shipment documents in system. Prepare and share report of Parts, product and document issues on monthly basis to management. Visit to site for critical quality issues and gather data for root cause analysis and derive corrective and preventive actions. Conduct NCR analysis with supplier by using 8D method. Training the supplier team on Quality tools. Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the part and site performance indicators by identifying quality issues and ways to reduce waste. Work on new ideas for automation of documentation and other internal process. Applying Six Sigma methodologies, drive continuous improvements in process to improve the Quality of product. Be part of sustainable engineering team to evaluate new requirements by collecting data from VOC, best practices in market etc. Willing to travel to suppliers, project sites and customers for 70% of the time.

Required Skills/Experiences: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Total 6-8 years of experience in supplier Quality Management. Six Sigma green belt certified. Proficient in quality tools such as 8D, 5 why SPC, Pareto, RCA process. Must be certified either as QMS, IATF, VDA internal auditor Indepth working knowledge of production part approval process (PPAP), and supplier qualification process. Strong understanding of manufacturing process. Good knowledge on data analytics and presentation skill with tools like Power BI, Minitab etc. Planning and prioritizing activities based on situation. Willing to learn and adapt the learning for process improvement. Strong interpersonal skills, Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good command on word, Excel and Power point. Should be well versed in English and knowledge of local language is preferable.
