The Steel Structure Engineer converts architectural and project requirements into technically sound structural systems that can be fabricated and constructed efficiently. The position covers structural modelling, load analysis, member design, connection coordination, technical documentation, contractor submittal review, and site verification. Close coordination between engineering, architecture, fabrication, and construction teams is essential. By identifying structural conflicts early and optimizing steel designs for strength, constructability, and material efficiency, the engineer contributes directly to project safety, cost control, programme performance, and long-term structural reliability.
Candidates should demonstrate proven professional experience in structural steel design and engineering, supported by strong knowledge of steel behavior, structural analysis, fabrication, and construction processes. Advanced proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent platforms is required. Candidates should also be capable users of AutoCAD or comparable CAD systems for engineering documentation and technical coordination. A sound understanding of international steel design codes, structural loading requirements, building standards, safety principles, and quality assurance procedures is essential. Practical experience reviewing fabrication and shop drawings is particularly valuable, as is the ability to coordinate technical requirements between designers, fabricators, contractors, and site teams. Experience with BIM workflows, Saudi Arabian building codes, local regulatory requirements, cost estimation, value engineering, and large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects will strengthen suitability for the position.
Saudi Arabia 's expanding pipeline of commercial developments, major infrastructure, industrial facilities, and complex building programmes is increasing demand for engineers with specialized structural steel expertise. Riyadh offers particularly strong exposure to ambitious projects where sophisticated structural analysis, digital design, constructability, and efficient steel systems are increasingly important. The position provides an opportunity to work across both design and construction interfaces rather than focusing exclusively on structural calculations. Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering, BIM coordination, fabrication reviews, site inspections, and value engineering can further develop the technical and project delivery capabilities required for progression into senior structural engineering and design leadership roles.
