Job summary

Sulzer Ltd in Riyadh is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to provide technical support to customers, sales service centers and warranty teams for rotating equipment in oil & gas, power and water sectors. The role emphasizes identifying upgrade opportunities and ensuring reliable performance.

You will conduct on-site assessments, analyze data, prepare comprehensive reports, and coordinate with Sulzer factories and international engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Qualification required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 10+ years in rotating equipment industry.
• Experience with centrifugal pumps and turbomachinery in Oil & Gas, Water, Power.
• Proficient in CAD (2D/3D) and design software.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers and service centers and warranty teams.
• Review inspection reports and recommend methods of repair.
• Identify upgrade opportunities based on findings.
• Analyze root cause of failure and prepare detailed reports.
• Conduct on-site performance assessments and analyze data.

About the role

Job Summary Responsibility for provision of technical support to customers sales service centers and warranty teams and identifying opportunities for upgrades and services predominantly in Oil & Gas Power and Water industries

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customer and Front-end team
  • A Reply to technical queries
  • B Attend meeting with customers for technical clarifications
• Provide technical support to service centers and field service including but not limited to
  • A Review inspection report
  • B Provide recommendations for method of repair
  • C Provide possible cause of failure based on observations made on components during inspection
  • D Provide recommendation of upgrade based on findings
  • E Provide guidance and recommendations for strip down assembly and setting for complex equipment in liaison with Experts
  • F Assist them with instructions for complex commissioning or troubleshooting
• Conduct root cause failure analysis which consists of
  • A Liaise with customer to gather data required for analysis
  • B Reviewing site data and reports
  • C Prepare detailed root cause failure analysis report with background result of analysis and recommendations
• Conduct on-site performance assessment which consists of
  • A Take measurement on equipment at site with vibration analyzer ultra-sonic flow meter thermodynamic method
  • B Analyze data collected during the site assessment
  • C prepare detailed report with background result of analysis and recommendations
• Liaise with Sulzer factories and overseas engineering teams when additional information is required on equipment to reply to customer queries support service centre or conduct root cause failure analysis
• Liaise with Sales Tendering and Engineering for the development of repair and retrofit proposals that meet customer requirements and can be successfully executed
• Conduct detail engineering required for modification and upgrade of equipment in the service centre by overseeing and arranging drawings Bill Of Material specifications
• Conduct or supervise reverse engineering of components in the service centre or at customer site with conventional measuring tools and 3D scan
• Participate in and actively support company initiatives that support growth
• Provide technical support to Warranty teams for issues encountered during installation commissioning operation and repair of rotating equipment
• Support warranty claim investigations including troubleshooting root cause failure analysis and preparation of technical reports with recommendations

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in the rotating equipment industry.
• Experience in centrifugal pumps and turbomachinery for Water, Power, and Oil & Gas industries.
• Knowledge of industry processes, practices, and standards.
• Proficiency in rotating equipment design and selection software.
• Design, drafting, and CAD (2D/3D) skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Estimated Travel Time: 30% to 40% (national and international)
• Ability to travel and visit customer sites frequently with assignment period from 1 day to 2 weeks.
