Job summary

Fortra is seeking a Solutions Engineer to act as a trusted advisor during the sales process, translating customer requirements into tailored, secure, scalable solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

You will work with sales, partners, professional services and product teams to deliver demonstrations, respond to RFPs, and guide customers through evaluation and proof-of-concept activities, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level technical degree or equivalent career experience.
• 3+ years in IT with presales, consultancy, development, or support.
• Excellent oral presentation and teaching skills in technical settings.
• Broad knowledge of technologies such as SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, SQL, SMB, DNS, proxies, LDAP, SAML, API, web services, JSON, XML, Windows, Linux, cloud/hybrid infra and containers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and partners to identify customer needs and propose solutions.
• Deliver technical presentations and respond to questions during sales calls.
• Design, demonstrate and defend high-impact solution demonstrations.
• Plan and manage proofs of concept with clear success criteria and timelines.
• Travel occasionally to meet customers and participate in events.
