ABYAT is seeking a Fit-Out Site Engineer in Saudi Arabia to lead day-to-day interior fit-out execution, supervise site teams, and coordinate with MEP services. The role ensures work aligns with drawings, specifications, and safety standards while driving on-time handovers.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years in interior fit-out, with strong finishing knowledge and experience across residential, retail, and commercial projects. A degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in interior fit-out and site execution.
  • Experience in residential, retail, commercial, hospitality, or high-end interior projects.
  • Strong knowledge of finishing works, materials, installation methods, and construction sequencing.
  • Good understanding of architectural, shop, and MEP.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily fit-out activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with designers, consultants, Project Managers, and technical teams regarding drawing discrepancies or required modifications.
  • Coordinate fit-out works with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-fighting, and other MEP services.
  • Allocate and monitor site activities according to the project schedule and priorities.
  • Conduct pre-handover inspections and ensure final handover readiness.

About this role

The Fit-Out Site Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day execution and supervision of interior fit-out works, ensuring projects are delivered according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, timelines, and safety requirements. The role coordinates site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, MEP works, and finishing activities through to snagging and final handover.

Key Responsibilities
Site Execution & Supervision
  • Supervise daily fit-out activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Manage the proper sequencing of fit-out activities to maintain smooth site progress.
  • Oversee interior finishing works including flooring, tiling, ceilings, partitions, painting, joinery, kitchens, bathrooms, doors, and other finishing elements.
  • Verify site measurements and actual conditions before fabrication and installation.
  • Identify site execution issues and coordinate timely corrective actions.
  • Ensure work is completed according to agreed project milestones and deadlines.
Technical & Drawing Coordination
  • Review architectural, interior design, shop, and coordination drawings prior to execution.
  • Ensure site execution accurately follows approved drawings and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with designers, consultants, Project Managers, and technical teams regarding drawing discrepancies or required modifications.
  • Raise RFIs and technical queries when information or clarification is required.
  • Ensure approved revisions and design changes are properly communicated and implemented on site.
MEP Coordination
  • Coordinate fit-out works with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-fighting, and other MEP services.
  • Identify potential clashes between architectural finishes and MEP installations before execution.
  • Coordinate the sequencing of MEP and finishing works to minimize rework and delays.
  • Ensure MEP openings, access panels, fixtures, and service points are properly coordinated with the final interior design.
Subcontractor & Workforce Coordination
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, technicians, installers, and site workers.
  • Allocate and monitor site activities according to the project schedule and priorities.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, workmanship, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate between different trades to prevent conflicts and delays.
  • Escalate performance or resource issues that may impact project delivery.
Materials & Installation
  • Coordinate material requirements based on the project schedule and upcoming site activities.
  • Inspect delivered materials to ensure compliance with approved specifications, samples, and quantities.
  • Ensure materials are properly stored and protected on site.
  • Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding material availability and delivery.
  • Monitor installation quality and ensure materials are installed according to manufacturer and project requirements.
Quality Control
  • Conduct regular inspections of ongoing and completed fit-out works.
  • Ensure workmanship complies with approved drawings, specifications, samples, and company quality standards.
  • Identify defects, non-conformities, and incomplete works and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Prevent rework by identifying quality or technical issues at an early stage.
  • Maintain high standards of finishing, particularly for client-visible areas.
Project Progress & Reporting
  • Monitor daily and weekly site progress against the approved project schedule.
  • Prepare site progress reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
  • Highlight potential delays, risks, material shortages, or technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate site records including inspections, RFIs, approvals, progress updates, and relevant documentation.
  • Support project meetings and provide updates on site execution and outstanding issues.
Snagging & Handover
  • Conduct pre-handover inspections and prepare snagging lists.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to rectify outstanding and defective works.
  • Ensure all snagging items are properly closed before final handover.
  • Support final inspections with clients, consultants, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the site is completed according to the required quality and presentation standards before handover.
  • Support preparation of relevant handover documentation and as-built information.
Health & Safety
  • Ensure all site activities comply with company HSE procedures and project safety requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractors and workers for compliance with site safety rules.
  • Report unsafe conditions and coordinate immediate corrective actions.
  • Maintain a safe and organized working environment throughout project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in interior fit-out and site execution.
