Job summary

slihrms is seeking a Sustainability Lead Engineer to oversee sustainability strategies, green building certification compliance, and environmental performance for major building and hospitality projects in Saudi Arabia. You will manage monitoring programs, drive energy and water efficiency, and coordinate with design teams, contractors, and certifying bodies to achieve certification milestones.

This role requires extensive experience in sustainability management within large-scale developments,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sustainability or a related engineering field.
• Master’s degree in a sustainability-related discipline preferred.
• Professional accreditations such as LEED AP or WELL AP are highly desirable.
• Membership with a recognized engineering or sustainability body preferred.
• Additional certifications in sustainability management or energy efficiency advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead sustainability monitoring programs aligned with project requirements and corporate goals.
• Monitor energy, water, waste, and resource use to drive performance.
• Support action plan implementation and ensure targets are achieved.
• Promote procurement of environmentally preferable materials and technologies.
• Identify opportunities to improve sustainability across the construction lifecycle.
• Ensure green building certifications are met and maintained.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and cert bodies for compliance.
• Maintain evidence and documentation for certification reviews and audits.
• Track milestones and report progress to management and client.
• Oversee resource efficiency and environmental compliance with HSE teams.
• Coordinate stakeholder communications and sustainability workshops.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related

Master’s Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Renewable Energy, or related

LEED AP / Estidama PQP / WELL AP / Envision SP or equivalent

Professional membership with a recognized engineering or sustainability institution

Certifications in sustainability management, energy efficiency, or environmental systems
