Job summary

International Maritime Industries is seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor for the Curved Block Assembly Department. The role requires supervising welding tasks, ensuring compliance with drawings, codes and safety standards, and mentoring technicians to maintain high-quality workmanship.

You will coordinate with planning and quality control to meet project timelines and budgets, select proper welding methods, and manage permits and equipment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent qualification or technical certifications or vocational training in welding processes (preferred).
• Experience: At least 15 years’ experience in Offshore Shipyard/Ship repair Industry.
• Professional Qualifications: Welding certificates (2G, 3G, 4G)

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and monitor welding tasks safely within schedule and budget.
• Adhere to drawings, procedures and codes; ensure quality workmanship.
• Select appropriate welding equipment and methods per job specs.
• Secure valid work permits prior to welding activities.
• Perform welding per approved standards and project requirements.
• Monitor material usage and initiate corrective actions.
• Inspect welds to meet IMI quality standards.
• Participate in toolbox meetings and address risks.
• Promote safety among welding technicians.
• Ensure adherence to HSES regulations.
• Inspect and maintain welding tools/equipment.
• Train and mentor staff to build competency.
• Report progress, delays, and resource needs to management.
• Support continuous improvement in equipment condition and resource use.
