Job summary

Parsons in Riyadh seeks a Senior Roads Design Engineer to lead highway and complex interchange designs on major infrastructure projects. You'll review drawings, prepare design details, and coordinate with structures, drainage, utilities, traffic and other disciplines within a PMO environment.

You will conduct cost–benefit analyses, produce pavement design calculations, support design approvals, deliver stakeholder presentations, and provide advisory input on risks and constructability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree desirable.
• At least 15 years of roadway design experience with highway and complex interchanges.
• Ability to develop geometric road designs to international and local standards.
• Knowledge of pavement design principles and life-cycle considerations.
• Strong road safety engineering knowledge and audit capability.
• Experience reviewing third-party designs and coordinating approval comments.
• Experience in multi-discipline PMO/PMC environments.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Road Safety Auditor certification (or equivalent) is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assignments including reviews of road drawings, specs, and design reports at concept and detailed stages.
• Performs advanced highway engineering tasks, developing design alternatives and exhibits for highways and interchanges.
• Conducts cost–benefit analyses and provides justified recommendations.
• Prepares pavement design calculations and road safety-related elements per standards.
• Reviews third-party designs and prepares technical comments and bid analyses.
• Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues and secure approvals.
• Prepares and delivers presentations on complex road design matters to teams and stakeholders.
• Acts in advisory capacity on design risks, value engineering, and constructability.
• Leads or participates in Road Safety Audits at project stages and records findings.
• Performs other related responsibilities as needed.
