Job summary

ADB SAFEGATE is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial and contractual aspects of major construction projects in the region. You will manage budgets, forecasts, variations, and claims while ensuring compliance with contract terms.

The role requires a strong background in quantity surveying, with expertise in standard forms (FIDIC/JCT/NEC) and proven negotiation skills. You will collaborate with legal, finance, and project teams to optimize value and minimize risk.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 7 years’ experience as a quantity surveyor with strong commercial expertise in construction/infrastructure/aviation.
Excellent understanding of contract law and standard forms of contract (FIDIC, JCT, NEC).
Strong commercial acumen and experience managing project budgets, costs, and claims.

Responsibilities

Lead administration, negotiation, and management of contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with terms.
Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage and value variations, claims, and change orders with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Oversee interim and final payment applications, ensuring timely submission and certification.
Analyse project costs, monitor financial progress, and prepare commercial reports for senior management.
Support procurement and tendering processes, including supplier evaluation and appointment.
Provide commercial input on risk, value engineering, and cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare, review, and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
