Job summary

Abunayyan Holding is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage BOQs, measurements, and cost reporting for construction projects in Saudi Arabia. The role covers interim valuations, variations, and final accounts, with responsibilities spanning measurement, subcontractor valuations, and cost control.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in QS, RICS membership preferred, and be registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers when practicing as an Engineer.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience in construction.
  • Interim valuation and final account preparation experience.
  • Cost monitoring and reporting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • RICS membership is preferred.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers is required where practising as Engineer in the Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare BOQs, take-offs, and quantity measurements for assigned projects.
  • Prepare interim payment applications and progress certificates within the contractual timeline.
  • Measure executed works against approved drawings and contract documents.
  • Reconcile measured quantities with site records before submission.
  • Review subcontractor valuations against executed and measured works.
  • Certify subcontractor payments and release them to Finance.
  • Reconcile subcontractor accounts against subcontract quantities and rates.
  • Track project costs against the approved budget and prepare cost reports.
  • Prepare the Cost to Complete (CTC) forecast and update it against the actual cost position.
  • Identify and flag cost variances and recommend corrective actions to the project team.
  • Identify and document project variations as they arise.
  • Measure and value variations and prepare cost assessments.
  • Submit variation assessments for approval within the contractual period.
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts with the client.
  • Compile as-built quantities and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain complete measurement, valuation, and cost records for audit purposes.

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience in the construction sector.
  • Interim valuation

  • Subcontractor valuation and certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is preferred.
  • Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is required where the postholder practices under the title of Engineer in the Kingdom.
