Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, QA Engineering to lead end-to-end quality across a complex enterprise software platform. You will own QA strategy, establish quality gates, and influence release decisions while remaining connected to hands-on testing.

You will lead multiple QA teams, align across engineering, product, UX, and field teams, and drive reliability, performance, and automation initiatives in a global remote setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading QA or quality engineering in large engineering orgs (100–500+ employees).
• Experience defining end-to-end QA strategies, quality gates, testing standards, and data-driven decisions across teams.
• Demonstrated leadership managing managers, senior specialists, principal engineers and ICs.
• Experience scaling QA organizations with scalable structures and operating models.
• Strong technical understanding of enterprise software testing, automation, reliability, and high-load testing.
• Experience supporting multiple product personas: developers, business users, operators.
• Ability to work across Kubernetes, cloud, microservices and related environments.
• Knowledge of automation with CI/CD integration; familiarity with Playwright or TestRail is a plus.
• Experience with chaos engineering or performance benchmarking is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the end-to-end QA strategy, establishing quality gates, standards, processes, and cross-team accountability.
• Lead and scale two QA teams spanning functional and reliability engineering, including managers and engineers.
• Evolve the QA organization and operating model to support growth and improved engineering impact.
• Partner with senior engineering leadership to strengthen reliability, performance, and high-load testing practices.
• Guide automation strategy and quality processes enabling teams to deliver reliable outcomes.
• Establish quality coverage across users, developers, and operators in Kubernetes, cloud, and bare-metal environments.
• Develop actionable quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting for leadership decisions.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, UX, docs, and field teams to embed quality throughout development.
• Stay connected to hands-on QA execution while providing strategic direction.
• Drive continuous improvement and cultural change across QA practices and automation.
