Job summary

Toptal in Saudi Arabia seeks a senior product leader to drive the card business into point-of-sale acquiring, building the product, processes, and commercial structures for a branchless bank.

You will design merchant onboarding, shape go-to-market, and partner with in-house acquiring and product teams to accelerate merchant growth and revenue in KSA and GCC.

This is a build role; you will bring senior outside perspective to a growing team and help scale a digital bank's POS strategy.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience running an acquiring business with POS component.
• Senior product management in banking, fintech, or payments.
• Expertise in POS and eCommerce acquiring.
• Experience building/scaling products and processes in evolving environments.
• Strong understanding of digital-first, branchless banking models.

Job description

A fast-growing digital bank in Saudi Arabia is expanding its card business into point-of-sale acquiring, and we’re looking for a senior product leader to drive it. The bank started as a digital wallet and has grown into a full branchless bank, with a large prepaid card base and newly launched credit and debit products. Its eCommerce acquiring business is already live. The next step is physical merchant acceptance.

This is a build role, not an optimization role. You’ll help design the products, processes, and commercial structures behind POS acquiring in an environment that is still taking shape, and you’ll bring a senior, outside perspective to an existing in-house team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the expansion of the acquiring business into point-of-sale acceptance
• Define and stand up merchant sign-up, onboarding, and enablement for physical card acceptance
• Shape the product, operational, and commercial structures behind a still-maturing acquiring business
• Work alongside the bank’s in-house acquiring and product teams, adding senior-level direction and experience
• Drive execution against core outcomes: merchant growth, negotiated rates, revenue, and speed to market
• Bring a clear point of view on acquiring strategy and execution in the KSA and wider GCC market

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience running an acquiring business that includes a point-of-sale component
• Senior-level product management experience in banking, fintech, or payments
• Deep expertise in both POS and eCommerce acquiring
• A track record of building or scaling products and processes in a new or evolving operating environment
• A strong understanding of digital-first, branchless banking models
• The ability to set commercial and execution priorities tied to merchant acquisition and revenue
• Direct experience in the Saudi (KSA) payments or banking market

Nice to Have

• A traditional banking background, paired with a clear perspective on how a digital bank should operate differently
• Familiarity with local scheme and regulatory context, such as mada and SAMA requirements
