Senior Metro QA/QC Inspector – Civil Infrastructure

Job summary

Systra in Riyadh is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to join the PMC team for a major metro project. The role focuses on monitoring construction works, verifying compliance with drawings, specifications, and project quality plans, and ensuring inspections are conducted at the right stages.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering or Quality Management degree and at least 5 years of QA/QC experience on large civil or infrastructure projects, preferably in metro or rail.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC inspection experience on major civil works or infrastructure projects.
• Preferably experience in metro, rail, underground, or large transportation projects.
• Experience with PMC, supervision consultant, engineering consultancy, or contractor QA/QC teams is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection requirements, quality standards, and applicable international codes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, method statements, and material submittals.
• Good reporting, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to monitor contractor compliance and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine QA/QC inspections of civil construction works at metro site.
• Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, quality plans, inspection/test plans, and method statements.
• Review and monitor contractor inspection requests and ensure works are offered for inspection at the appropriate stages.
• Inspect materials delivered to site and verify compliance with approved submittals and project requirements.
• Witness relevant field and laboratory tests in accordance with project quality requirements.
• Identify non-conforming works and report quality issues to the Resident Engineer or relevant supervision staff.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions and verify close-out of quality issues.
• Maintain accurate quality records, reports, checklists, test results, and inspection documentation.
• Coordinate with contractor QA/QC personnel and PMC supervision teams on quality-related matters.
• Support audits, surveillance activities, snagging, de-snagging, and handover inspections.
• Ensure that work is carried out in line with project quality procedures and relevant health and safety requirements.
• Report any concerns that may affect quality, compliance, or timely project delivery.
